Eden FM Celebrates the anniversary of Live Aid 1985, Saturday 12th July 2025

Saturday 12th July 2025 from 8am until 8pm, Lee Quinn and Martin Cowin share a moment in history, joined by members of the Eden FM team and guests.

We'll be celebrating 40 years of Live Aid for 12 hours with a re-run of that day, including dialogue, along with songs and some extra tracks.

Over 200 emails have gone out and Lee will be knocking on doors on Friday and Saturday with raffle tickets up until midday on Saturday.

Celebrating 40 years of Live Aid - One Concert, Two Continents 

The Saturday Breakfast Show at 8:00am starts with Pam, Stevie and Lee, then Kaptain Mounsey takes our stage from 10:00am, joined by Lee. With Martin arriving before the main event, until the visitors stop coming and the phone stops ringing, we hope to be finishing around 8:00pm!

In short, we are asking local businesses and organisations to help with one of the following in raising funds for Eden FM.

All financial supporters of and contributors to the event will feature in a ‘thank you’ list in the next edition of the Eden Local.

The Big 'Live Aid' five for 1985 raffle in association with your Eden Local and Eden FM

This is what you could win… 

  1. A three-month radio advertising campaign between September and December. Your 30 - 35 second advert played six times a day, every day. This includes scripting, voice over and production.
  2. A 1/2 page advert, including design in the Eden Local (Sept/Oct) edition.
  3. Sponsorship of an evening show for three months.
  4. Two page banner adverts in the Eden Local including design - must be used by Jan/Feb edition 2026.
  5. Sponsor of the 10am - 12pm Monday to Friday slot.

All songs will have special announcements including sponsors details on air pre-event, during and after the event promotion. Your commitment will be shared on social media postings and your details will feature in print via the next Eden Local 'Live Aid' feature, out by 5th September.
