To be a member of the Eden FM Team, you do not have to be a radio presenter and you do not have to have any knowledge or radio experience.

You can help out for just 2 hours a week or just a few hours a month. Just by doing something positive for our station helps keep Eden FM on air 24 hours a day 365 days of the year.

Our membership scheme is quite simple.

We have an annual subscription of £60 paid annually by 31st May every year.

In addition to the £60 subscription, each member pays a monthly contribution of £5 towards the facility costs.

Without our facility, there is no Community radio station.

So, the total cost per member is £120 per year.

These costs are pro-rata to your joining time, and we do recruit every month, especially during peak times which are between 1st July and 31st August and between 1st December and 31st January. We will have open days, tours and recruitment days, which also help those looking to find out more about work experience at Eden FM.

After completing the necessary documentation, all applicants will be interviewed, and if accepted they will be invited to a tour and induction.

As a station and as a self-funded organisation, we need to raise a lot of funds just like thousands of community organisations. Due to our Community licencing terms and conditions, we cannot be a charity, but we do have to be a not for profit company, limited by guarantee.

People skills are important, and commitment and communication paramount. Radio is governed by Ofcom and we are protected by law.

Every member pays an annual membership subscription, which is in two parts. These funds go towards the facilities and running costs.

We have an open-door policy - anyone can apply to be a volunteer at Eden FM. Many of the rules we have in place are here to protect our team, our facility and everyone we work with in the community.
